πŸš— Autonomous Braking Distance

Test Track HUD // Type It. Time It. Brake It.

SYSTEMS ENGINEER BRIEFING (from your very nervous student-driver AI):

  • Step 1 β€” Calculate: Compute the discriminant \( b^2 - 4ac \) or solve with the quadratic formula \( x = \dfrac{-b \pm \sqrt{b^2-4ac}}{2a} \), then type your number into the console. No multiple choice to hide behind!
  • Step 2 β€” Brake: A needle sweeps across the brake gauge. If your math was correct, the safe stopping zone lights up green β€” slam BRAKE (or hit SPACE) while the needle is inside it. Get the math wrong and you're braking blind.
  • System Integrity: You start with 3 Integrity Cores. Any missed diagnostic (bad math, bad timing, or both) drains 1 core. Losing all 3 halts the test vehicle.
  • Test Randomization: Equations are shuffled every test session. Cones are, unfortunately, always in the way.
  • Session Memory: This console holds data only in active memory. Reloading the page resets the test log completely.
